Read the agreement
Confirm whether collision, comprehensive or other coverage and deductible limits are required. Arrange insurance before taking the car home and make sure the lender or lessor is recorded correctly where required. A low “basic liability” estimate may not be an available choice for your contract.
Review replacement-related options
Ask about depreciation protection or gap-related products where offered, their cost and exclusions. These do not replace normal collision and comprehensive coverage. Request written explanations and compare them with the vehicle's expected value and your loan or lease balance.
Match the policy to the contract
If the lease requires physical damage coverage with a maximum deductible, a cheaper liability-only quote does not meet the agreement. Show the insurer the relevant clause and ask for a quote reflecting it. Confirm the lessor's information and the coverage start time before collecting the vehicle.
