Ask about protection
What liability limit is included? Which damage events are covered? What deductible applies to collision, theft or glass? Are regular drivers listed and paid driving permitted? In a province with public basic coverage, ask which parts of the quote are mandatory and optional.
Ask about service and total cost
What is the total annual amount after instalment charges? How do claims, repairs and rental-car benefits work? What is the cancellation process? Get answers and the quote in writing, then read the policy wording. The lowest monthly payment need not be the lowest annual cost.
The last check before payment
Read the final quote aloud against your intended coverage: named drivers, exact car, start time, liability limit, deductibles and annual total. Ask the representative to correct any mismatch before paying. Save a copy of the confirmed policy, not just a calculator screenshot.
